That must be a really old ProComm!!
The Win3.1 version could do 115k2, and my previous client used an even older DOS one which did 115k2.

The trouble with HyperTerminal is that it makes life extremely difficult if you just want a plain dumb terminal emulator; it'll try and force you to install a modem, set dialling options, configure a connection, etc, etc.
If it doesn't work, you're left not knowing if it's just not setup properly, or if there's a real problem with your code!
