#14956 - Lets decide not to murder each other |
I liked this thread better when i was composed of offers of condolence for the innocent lives lost. It expressed the true quality of the community that is this forum.
Justice yes but.. I am distressed to read others easily justify the taking of innocent lives in terror or retribution (did someone ask for nuclear strike?). Especially as it seems to be iunder-pinned by the same old dogmatic "political speak". It is alway easier to exchange bullets than ideas and this forum itself indicates the complexity of each of our points of view. I wince and do not accept the basis of Shaharyar conclusions but his argument regarding Hiroshima should not be lighly taken. Yes, Hiroshima was the calculated taking of innocent civilian lives. But "Islam educates, Doing wrong in response to any wrong is absolutely wrong". -- So where are we.-- Which one of us will break the chain? The murder of innocents is immoral no matter who or where. Can we not agree? Could not those who participate in this forum dedicate themselve to not support or excuse this immorality? I am thankful that this forum has occured and I would ask that those who would excuse the murder of innocents (anywhere!) please rethink your political "rationalizations". Also excuse the length of this response. Please consider for just a moment prior to responding with the "nuke em all", "my country right or wrong", and "death to imperialists". |
