"which architecture did ... choose for their .... with uC?" the answer is, in all cases, the '51. Yes, the 8051 does seem to be the "Core of Choice" for all these types of application. This is probably because it is so widely available as IP cores - which cannot be said of the proprietary architectures like PIC, AVR, HC08 (only very recently), etc. And production-quality independent tools are widely available, and there's a huge base of code & experience... For applications where the 8051 doesn't cut it, ARM is the "Core of Choice" - probably for similar reasons. |
