ES and EA are there because i started working on interrupt driven code but as that was not working i strip down the code

If you remove the ISR and leave ES in, the uC will go to lunch whenever the UART has finished processing a cha.r be that receive or transmit.

Use CodeArchitect, free from http://www.esacademy.com if you do not like the code, at least you have a reference.
