All I want it to do is have the 4 switches polled, do their action (100% functional).

Then after the switches are polled, to poll each ADC for one scan, use the measured A/D byte, do an output action, move on to the next ADC, same action as first, go back and recheck the four switches......do forever.

Simple. The ADC is a real PITA. Most A/D's I've interfaced where external and free running. Of course being onboard is convienient, but causing me big time grief.....

I can't seem to find any good source code anywhere even as an example. The NXP app note is way out in left field and the user manual and data sheet only discuss operational pararmeters and the like.

an interesting learning curve to say the least.
