#155604 - Only once, but make sure you wait
Responding to: ???'s previous message
sufficiently long for the voltage to stabilize. I faced an issue
once where my LCD would mysteriously refuse to get initialized in
2 line mode. Once in a while, say about 1 in 20 tries it would properly initialize in 2 line mode.

I later learned that you need to wait at least 40 ms or so that LCD voltage stabilizes when you apply the init sequence.

Please refer to the datasheet for the exact delay required. I think I remember it to be 40 ms.

Seemanta
