1) it should be possible to load a
.hex file into a simulator and run
it, without access to the source
listings. (not all simulators, but
i seem to remember some simulator
saying this). but thanks for the
idea. maybe i can load it into
a Nohau and run it from there, if
the Nohau emulator provides coverage.

2) i have downloaded a few
inexpensive simulators from
Craig's 8052.com Links page,
but don't have time to
install/debug ALL of them, possibly
to find out that none of them
can produce the information needed.
