That's not to say it's not a good derivative, but it's really a different set of hardware that executes the 805x instruction set.

It's been said time and again, that "... the things that you're liable to read in "the bible", they ain't necessarily so ..." at least when applied to newer-than-the "bible" hardware.

SiLabs has published their own "bible" to which you should refer when you need information about the SiLabs hardware.

You can't rely on the old, Old, OLD, Philips document when you want information about newer chips. Just ask Erik Malund ... Even the Philips chips may, from case to case, differ considerably from what's been published about earlier generations.
