#156893 - key word 'modest' I totally agree
Responding to: ???'s previous message
The ability to use larger screens and various selections of font sizes also makes the GUI working environment much better.
large screens - yes, font sizes - no. It is very tiring for the eyes to squint. I am sure some of you young whippersnappers can work with an 8 point font, not everyone can.

With these tools I take full advantage using a modest amount of vertical white space on source files.
key word 'modest' I totally agree.
one line of "vertical white space", can make code much more readable, 5 consequitive such only makes the code roll off the screen.

One thing I can say that I detest is source code that is so densely packed as to also make it unredable.
agreed again.

there are two issues in 'densely packed', one is "vertical white space", the other, which I dislike is "saving carriage returns"

again - personal opinion.
