#157552 - Was it working when....
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Was it working when you had the RW pin hooked up and you were polling the BUSY bit?

If you never had it working at all either way then you will have to consider that any part of your program and the LCD driver could be at fault. In this state you may have to resort to the lowest level debug mode checking each I/O pin function against your intended code functions by probong with an oscilloscope.

On the other hand if the BUSY polling code was working and you had characters displaying then the problem has to be on the way that you made the changes. Double and triple check your delay routine to make sure it is working. Also make sure that you strapped the RW pin to the W state instead of the RD state. If you have a cobbled together prototype maybe the process of making the woring change you disturbed some other connection and the whole MCU setup is failing to run correctly because of this. Once again an oscilloscope could be very useful here.
