#158191 - EEPROM: Does partial page write rewrite the page? |
If one is using page write to write a subset of bytes within a page (e.g., 16 sequential bytes within a 128-byte page), internally are only the target 16 bytes reprogrammed or does the device also rewrite the other 112 bytes surrounding the 16 bytes?
The specific device in question is a Microchip 24LC1025 I2C serial EEPROM, but I'd be interested to also know about other serial EEPROMs. I have read the device data sheet and have read many other similar data sheets over the years, but have never read anything that definitively describes the aspect of EEPROM operation I'm asking about. I will likely ask on the Microchip forum too. |
