... will a small resistor in series with the shunt device not take care of that.
I did think of that issue when I had a brief gander (brief because I do not use serially connected LEDs), I figured the problem would only exist in cases where the user did not give a hoot (not getting ONE broken LED fixed) Anyhow LEDs are remarkably reliable, we have many millions out there and service replace about 25 a year.
