That the author(/copyright holder/whomever can do it) of IAP is reluctant to publish details such as resources usage (not to say that it deserves to be published openly), does not mean it is MEANT to be "reset only". It IS supopsed to be a "write to FLASH", if it is supposed to be useful at all.
