That was a good and inetersting transaction between you, Erik and Andy.
And at the end of it my perspective does stand corrected. Counting the bytes by code possibly with a sprintf should save the day for me. Thanks. You are very right in warning about producing fragile code - you code for ideal conditions and out there in the field the first unexpected thing happens and your code is down on its knees ! And boy am I glad that you are neither going to score my project work nor I am a vendor to you!! Your points are well taken. Raghu |
