Have you looked at the datasheet for a P80C591?
The datasheet should describe what pins that may be used as outputs, and what pins will be consumed by the CAN interface. A quick parametric search on Keils forum seems to indicate that it has 32 output pins. How many are lost to the CAN interface? If too many gets consumed, then you either have to switch to another processor, or add an external bus expansion - for example a latched shift register. |
