#161290 - Accuracy Responding to: ???'s previous message |

I have been working on ATmega32 controller (10 channel - 10 bit ADC) for this project, but only to find out that the accuracy is not good enough. I cannot get the reading of any where near 5mV above or below the true reading as calculated (5000mV/1024 = 4.8828mV/count)for the reading range 0-5V. It is far more likely that this is due to problems in your analogue input circuitry than any inherent "inaccuracy" in the AVR. Therefore, simply replacing the AVR with a different microcontroller is highly unlikely to help! What you really need to be doing, probably, is looking at your analogue input circuitry and ensuring that its gain is accurate & stable to better than 10 bits; noise is below 10 bits, etc, etc... |
