Jan: You have answered exactly why I pointed out that solution was not perfect. I was hoping that the original poster would be able to see that for themselves as a learning experience but clearly there is a "forest for the trees" blind spot regarding the UART TI interrupt for this forum participant.
Every "8052 Bible" document that I have seen makes it clear that - 1) the TI and RI ored together is what generates the UART interrupt if it is enabled ... and 2) These status bits must be cleared by software when they have become set and interrupt processing for the current set state is handled. These bits do not clear in hardware as a result of processing the Timer interrupts work. Michael Karas |
