And is the text material changing so often that it is required to use text2speech instead of recording real speech?
It is very hard to get a text2speech tool to come close to the readability of a real voice. A native speaker may think it sounds a bit funny, but a non-native speaker may be completely lost. I have taken subways and busses where the voice messages has been synthetic, and where I have got off at the wrong station just because I couldn't understand the synthetic messages... |
