To answer your original question, Yes, you can program an 89C52 with BASIC and it will function exactly like the original 8052-AH BASIC chip. To resolve timing issues, etc., check the data sheets.
I'm guessing that is why the chips are becoming more rare. It is hard to get people to spend big $$ on a masked ROM chip when you can purchase a FLASH ROM CPU for a few dollars. |
