I remember being able to whistle
and the 8870 would sometimes detect
a dtmf digit. I had to make a software filter. For example, if a valid dtmf tone is defined as continuous for 40 mSec(I think) then sample the line every 20uS 2000 times and if it's high
all 2000 times then it's legitimate.
That fixed the whistling problem.
