Hi Stephan,

if you not need high baud rates, you can build a second UART in software (9600 baud full-duplex or 38400 baud half-duplex).

Also its possible to connect both 8051 with its data bus (P0) over a 74HC646 bidirectional latch. Then both can read / write (MOVX) this latch byte wise.
