I would add a small I2C-connected EEPROM in case I needed non-volatile configuration data.
You may be able to find a chip where CODE and XDATA overlaps, and where it is possible to reprogram a part of the flash but the EEPROM is very cheap and allows you more choices when selecting a processor. |
