I recently needed to connect a PC to a CAN bus running at an unknown speed. I would suggest you cause the ECU to transmit messages and connect a scope to the bus (either the high or low line). Capture a single CAN frame and it should be easy to measure a single bit time. That will give you an approximation of the baud rate.
Then get a CAN interface like PCAN-USB from www.peak-system.com. It comes with PCAN-View which allows you to view CAN messages. PEAK also have more sophisticated software like PCAN Explorer. Andy |
