Yes - it's precisely because you don't have much time that you need to focus on things that will contribute directly to your progress on your course!

If your course is using 'C' and a particular IDE, it makes sense to focus on them and not get side-tracked with BASCOM or anyting else!

I've read about C developement enviroments, but I don't know exactly which is the best for AT89S52

They all have their pros & cons!

Is KEIL good for me?

If you use Keil while everyone else is using something else, and the teachers have something else, and the lectures teach something else, and the labs assume something else - no, I don't think that will be good for you!
