"improper fixup" was a linker error.
Maybe, you use the wrong memory model.

Also your example looks useless, since any code after it was unreachable.
And so "cheakserialCMD ();" was never executed.

Since this soft reset code works right
on my programs, the error can be caused only in conjunction with the other external functions.
