Maxing out the timer limits your resolution, as well. Pick a resolution that makes sense or is easy to do math. For example, 10uS is very easy to keep in perspective for a beginner working with timers. To know exactly what your values should be there are multiple timer 8052 calculators that are written for web browsing and even some spreadsheets that are easily downloadable. Also, keep in mind the setup times needed as they also consume time, such as when one is incrementing for longer delays. |
