there are already tons of discussions and examples on this forum.

The most effective way was the subtractions method.

Also the task should be divided into two steps:
1. calculate the 6 digits
2. put every 2 lower nibble into a byte.

But mostly the ASCII code was generated directly and displayed without using the packed bcd format.
