#176151 - please help |
I am new here. I am trying to learn microcontrolers for a project I have in mind but I know basically nothing about computers. I know basic electronics. I bought a programing and development board "PISP 2.2" which uses an 8051 based microcontroler. It has an interface to the computer for programing through a max232 chip. I am having 2 problems.
1. All the tutorials i read to learn basic microcontrolers assume the reader has a basic knowledge of programing (i don't). I don't even know what language to use to program this thing. 2. Every time i supply the board with power, the max232 chip heats up. it gets REALLY hot I am obviously doing something wrong and was hoping someone could recommend a tutorial for idiots and possibly a way to test my max232 chip to see if its bad. |
