That's quite a cunning trick!
Even tools which do support long names often have trouble with spaces in filespecs - I think your approach would solve that, too! However, as I said to Fahmy, this does seem to be making life unnecessarily difficult for yourself! If you're really so keen on long filenames, why not get something which shares your view and supports them? Or, if you're so keen on this assembler, why use names that it can't handle!? Your approach will also mean that you have no source debugging capability. Also, if you want to link the output from multiple sources, you'd have to add renaming all the assemblers output files! |
