Thank you for suggestion, but we have already shipped 1000 telephone systems with flash upgrade utility, so the hardware is fixed, we must upgrade the firmware and put it on internet available for downloading.
I have used the IPAC chip for internal S0 (with integrated SBC and 4 HDLC controllers)but the customer can buy the system with or without internal S0 modul installed so for external remote system configuration it must be a software solution.

Thank you for your participation, it seems that you're right. Maybe you have a TABLE driven CRC16 routine since the speed is the problem, not code space (we have 128K available and now we're at 74K) othervise I will make it myself.
