I have linked labview and the ADuC824 before, however, i used the parallel port to receive any data from the board (easier to trigger etc...) and i've found that trying to communicate over the uart during testing (especially if you're developing code while downloading it) proved to be a bit annoying. I think there's a VI for serial communications in LabView itself and so u can use that to send data, just specifying pins and all that fun stuff has to be done.
