does anyone knows how to program the UART scc2691 via 8051?

wat are the commands and how to i do it?
i have read the specs and still do not know how to. can someone pls enlighten me.

is it just send commands to the AO, A1, A2 pins( if you knoe wat i mean) or write to the data bus?? very confused abt this part.
