hi, Can anyone help me in interfacing the 8254 counter with 89c51 microcontroller. I have tried a lot. I initialize the 8254 as required by first making its RD pin high, selecting A1,A0=11 for control word address,
selecting control word for counter0 and mode 3 (square wave mode) then making the WR pin low to write the control word. Then I again make WR high and select A1,A0=00 for counter0 and count =1 and make WR low again.
By doing this what i get on out pin is not a stable frequency signal. First of all what should I get on out pin. Then I also want to read back the counts from counter0 to 89c51 and display it. How should I proceed.
