is it possible to backup the Data content of a Ram by battery ?

my problem: the board is nice, 100² mm² in size, external power 8V DC .. 25 V DC, it uses a Atmel 89S8252 CPU , a external V62C518256LL-70P 32 K / a bit static Ram, the tratidional 74HCT573 Latch an 74HCT00 quad Nand gate, a MAX 232 , an 74HCT126 for in curcit programming, auto reset/restart Program via com1: PC RS232 port and a COM2: PC RS232 port for communication via the serial ports wiht the programm output, oder the old faschioned 8052-AH basic interpreter.

i did solder the about € 60,- kit in 1 hour and it worked fine from the beginning, i have experince with 8031 and 8042 dating from 1980 and now i'm learning with this 8051 comtabibel board,

ok: i dont like my basic programs disapeer at power off, and would like to operate the whole board from battery and have an aditional battery backup system for the ram only, do u know any solution for that ?
