#2149 - I2C EEProm Discussion |
Quick Survey Question:
(1) Do you include a validation token such as a CRC or Cksum when writing records to an I2C EEProm device? I'm not inclined to do so but a programmer asked me about it. My rationale is that the connection is hardwired, the timing asynchronous, and as long as you are aware of the write cycle time or ACK/NAK protocol... You should be fine. Reasons FOR implementing it would be to detect bad/incomplete records due to a power failure or reset during a write process. Since I could easily add it or omit it, I'd like to hear what you all think. Thanks, -Jay C. Box |
