#21885 - switching powr supplies |
Hi,
(I'm not apologising for anything this time :-) ) One of my latest robots will have the ability to re-charge itself by driving onto a charging pad. I was going to achieve this by having the charging supply trigger an I/O line. when this line goes high I then use another ping to switch the charging supply to the battery on. the Robot then uses a timer to decide if it's charged up or not... My question is this: what precautions should I take regarding the uP when the power switches over? would a nice big fat Cap on it's power supply stop the ripples, or some diodes or something? Chris |
