I too have had a simular problem. After a variable number of successful commands being sent and operated on the program stops responding. At the moment the only quick work around that has kept the system operating is to drop to 1200 baud. I'm running at 11.0592MHz with a T89C51RD2. I'll let you know if I find a solution.
