#22378 - Help with 8051 Project.

I am a high school student learning to program the 8051 and I need some help with my final project.
I wanna use a UHF Receiver and a transmitter in my 8051 project so that a blind person can navigate an unknown area.
Can you program the 8051 to recognize the distance between the transmitter so that if the transmitter come closer, the receiver makes a buzzer "beep" louder.
If so, how? I will greatly appreciate it if anyone can answer my question.
