This is not a game of squeezing crazy schemes into processors, it is a craft of making reliable maintainable code.

One derivative may sense !EA at the start of an instruction, some derivatives latch it during reset, and yet others may do it between ALE and read. This is not a "cross-derivative" specification and may even change between revisions of the same chip.
Some of the crazy schemess discussed previously were discussed because "I put another '51 in the socket and my good code does not work" what is good about code that only work with a specific revision of a chip.

Make RELIABLE MAINTAINABLE code, do not screw around with things the processor was never intended for.

"Oh but I'm an amateur, this is not intended for commercial use"

So what, should the amateur builder make houses that fall down?
