A simple way to measure a capacitance is to charge it through a resistor, the time it takes to trigger a comparator set at 2/3 Vin is a measure of the capacitance (T=RC). You will, of course need a discharfe circuit as well. The whole thing can be implemented with a '51 a resistor, a comparator and 2 mosfets.
