What we have done before is Image acquisition board getting images( 640*480 or more), save them as *.dat file, and using VC or Borland C to process the images.. If we use ways we have done, we need a PC, but sometime when you want to install this system under noisy, dusty enviroment, we should buy a Industry PC, it is very expensive. so I think if we can use Microcontroller to do it? save space and moeny.
