#22687 - TI's TUSB3210 (USB to I2C) pointers PLS |
I've just come across TI's TUSB3210 in my search for a device to interface a piece of automated test equipment to a PC. It's an 8052 based USB device controller with a built in I2C master controller. As far as I can tell, TI provides absolutely nothing for info on the 8052 core. I'm going to work my way through the tutorials, etc here (looks like I hit the jackpot wrt core function/architecture info) but I'm not comfortable yet with USB protocol in general and what would be involved to use the boot-from-USB capability of the TUSB3210 in particular. Pointers to info on accessing the USB from the Java runtime environment would also be appreciated.
I couldn't find TI in the "chips" section here and there doesn't seem to be any current or FAQ items on the TUSB3210. Is anyone playing around with this chip? I'm still at the point where I could bail out if this is going to be more trouble than it's worth but at the moment this sounds like a chip I could get to like. Pointers, comments, etc. appreciated, Mike TUSB3210 datasheet accesable at http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod...r=TUSB3210 |
