I have to connect my application direct with mains 220volts a.c.

I am using a bridge with 7805 and the mcu is 2051.

Any idea what resistor value I should use in series with mains keeping in mind full current requirment by the outputs connected to mcu ports.

I have a value of 10k 5 watt resistor.
