#23598 - RE: Integated Development Enviornment |
Personally, I've used Dunfields IDE for several years. The demos are size limited, but the cost of the entire package is only a couple of hundred bucks. Dave gives details on building an ICE out of a DS5000. You write and compile your code and with a couple of more keystrokes the code is in the uP running. It has a monitor and debugger included. I've tried some of the other demos out there and I wasn't impressed, especially I saw what the cost was. I don't think they can do that much more than Dunfields programs for the price difference. Of course they are DOS programs, but I've had no problems running them in any of the Win OS upto 98. And when I call or email for technical support, the guy that actually wrote the programs is the one that answers the questions. Not somebody that doesn't have a clue.
