Thanks for your response, however: not disabling the extram shows activity
on P3.6 and P3.7, the 'external data memory' read and write strobes.

Perhaps I don't supply the correct switches
to the compiler, but it appears to me, when I don't disable the extram, my code tries
to fetch its 'ram' from external, instead of using the 8Kbit internal ram.
