Port 3 of AT89C51 serves various functions. Let's say that in one case P3.5 is used for timer 1 external input, P3.0 and P3.1 are used for serial data communication. Other pins such as P3.6(external data memory write strobe) and P3.7(external data memory read strobe) are not used for their respective function purpose.

Is it possible to use P3.6 and P3.7 for other purpose such as driving LEDs at the same time when P3.5,P3.0 and P3.1 are used for mentioned function purpose ?
