By devices if you mean mcu Chips, just go to some of your local are market of this kinda stuff.

For learning just download free 8951 programer from atmel.com.
and download metalink assembler with manual from its site. ( try searching for similar information I had given to somebody asking for free assembler.)

Also download data sheets from atmel.

In my opinion Atmel's MCUs are easy to take a start.

Get some books from amazon. Some books got CD or floppy in them with all resources a learner needs.
