Hi all,
we are currently planning to use PHILIPS 89C51RD2 microcontroller in place of ATMEL AT89C51. What we are looking for is an EXACT replacement of the chip. I want to know if it is safe to remove the AT89C51 chip from its base and place a 89C51RD2 chip there (even the program being the same).(ofcourse except for the programming pin logic).
The actual problem started when our Programmer was dropped down accidentally by our collegue and it broke. Now, we are really pressed for time and all the circuit and PCB design for AT89C51 is already made. So, I want to know if its safe to directly place the philips chip there.Pleae advice.
