Rob, Steve thanks for your inputs, although i have read about 90% of the Cygnal F00x controllor manual (the 170 page one),but i still don't feel to have much confidence to write a working code. i went to google and have get a few paper on servo motor. i'm surely will read them this time. by the way i will also get a book about 8051.
by the comparesion form this web site and amazon. these two book has the most high rating.

1.The 8051 Microcontroller: Hardware, Software, and Interfacing (2nd Edition,James)

2.The 8051 Microcontroller (3rd Edition,Scott)

because they are kind of expensive. so i decide to get one. which you guys have in mind is good for a beginning.i'm a fifth year college student, in electrical engineering and i have some background on C and assambly.
