A biometric security system is a good idea... but has a number of complexities:
- Real-time pattern recognition algorithm will require a LOT of memory and a powerful processor.
- The sensor to scan the fingerprint/ retina will be expensive and rare. You may be better off with voice recognition
- It will be expensive.
- You cant loan your car to anybody :)) mebbe for those with destructive children, thats a good thing.....But such a system will be useful for other less general applications.

The USB port idea seems to be a more practical idea. I had seen the requirement for a slightly similar project, where we were to provide a PCI card with USB ports for general purpose use on PCs.
